2026 Platform of the Democratic Party of Campbell County, Wyoming

The Campbell County Democratic Party is committed to fostering a thriving, equitable, and sustainable community for all residents. Guided by the core values of the Wyoming Democratic Party—opportunity, sustainability, and integrity—our 2026 platform addresses the unique challenges and opportunities facing Campbell County, ensuring a proactive approach to local governance and a brighter future for our families, workers, and businesses.

A Constitutional Republic

We support the entire Constitution of the United States of America and all the amendments thereto, believing the current administration picks and chooses which portions of this Constitution should be enforced and which portions of this Constitution should be ignored. We support the Constitution of the State of Wyoming, the Equality State, and affirm its statement that “all power is inherent in the people.” [Wyo. Const. Art. 1, §001]

Keep Public Lands in Public Hands

We believe that public lands in Wyoming should continue to be owned and managed by public entities and that land transfers between public and private entities should only occur after full disclosure and debate. We support land trusts, conservation easements, private reserves and incentives that allow landowners to protect natural, agricultural, or historic resources while retaining private ownership. We believe that the lease of public lands to privately-owned agricultural or ranching entities is essential to the economic well-being of Wyoming.

The Equality State

We believe diversity and tolerance is a critical component of a thriving and successful state. Therefore, we support non-discrimination in employment, housing, or public access based upon race, color, national origin, religion, handicap, sex, age, veteran status, political affiliation, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Health Care for All

We believe health care is a basic human right. We support a single-payer health care system that provides for every person. We support the autonomy, respect and dignity of Wyoming residents and their right to their own health care choices.

Stop Subsidizing I.C.E.

We reject the establishment of any Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Wyoming. We reject the continuation of agreements between ICE and local law enforcement, such as 287(g), which incurs additional financial costs to Campbell County residents for federal police activity. We support the reduced scope of ICE to exclude non-traditional agencies, such as state fire marshals and wildlife officers.

A Right to Public Education

We support the right of all Americans to a high-quality, equal education regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, handicap, sex, age, veteran status, political affiliation, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We support the six (6) mill permissive property tax levy for the funding of our local public schools, established by the Wyoming Constitution, and accountability for using taxpayer funding for all non-public education.

Free and Fair Elections

We support an open and accurate election process without intimidation. We reaffirm the right to free and equal elections as established by the Constitution of the State of Wyoming. We support all registered voters having the option to receive a ballot by mail, with the option to vote in person.

Economic Stability

We support a diversified economy including responsible energy development.

Thank You To Our Troops

We support a voluntary military, and commend our veterans and all who currently serve in the armed forces of the United States of America. Whether in this country or overseas, on active duty or in reserve, these men and women are the pride of our great nation. We want them to know that their country is proud of them, and we thank them for their service.

The Campbell County Democratic Party is dedicated to working collaboratively to build a community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
